Not too hard to put on, but it's hard to find the room to tuck it under the hood. I have a 3 horn set with a 1 gallon tank, and a Viair compressor. I did plumb in a air chuck for filling bike tires & stuff under the hood too. My compressor is mounted to the side of the battery tray. Tank is right below it in front of the platic fender. Horns are mounted on the other side facing down.

Keep in mind, real train horns are illegal (but cool). Tractor horns, however, are not...

If you can find a Nathan 5 Chime, that would be cool. Would sound like a real locomotive but hey need alot of air to power them.

I got mine from www.hornblasters.com. I have a 3 chime with viair 1.5 g tank/compressor and they have tons of others on there.
I mounted my horns sleeper style to the bottom of my truck box in my bed and the compressor and tank in the truck box with a bunch of 1'' holes all around it to let air in. Might be the mod I have the most fun with.

I've got a Hadley twin horn setup. It's over 7 years old and still scaring all the blue-hairs down here. The ViAir 1.5 gallon pump/pressure switch/tank setup is the way to go, IMHO. $139 plus $12 shipping and you can usually get a $30 discount for opening a VISA account.

just do yourself a favor, use a valve to control the horn NOT an electric solenoid...... this way you can "talk" the horn, not just all out blast it...........

I've got a Leslie RS-3L in my truck with a 5 gallon tank and a Viair 450C compressor. And I just ordered another 5gallon tank for more volume.

izz, check with viair or hornblasters to make sure you are not going too large on the tank for that pump, trust me, it could end up costing you the compressor if it is too much.

10 gallons will definatly kill that compressor it will take way too long to recover I have almost same setup with a viair 460 compressor and it takes a while to fill the one 5 gallon back up. I'm thinking about going with dual compressors and 200 psi

That's why I have the 1.5 gallon setup. That runs the horn only. Fillup from 0psi to 125psi is a minute and a half. I carry an extra 5 or 10 gallon portable tank in the truck box for other stuff. All have quick connects so I can air up the bigger tanks if need be. I don't need 10 gallons of air constantly to run my horn. But if I did, I could piggyback the whole system together with the quick connects. Modular is the way to go, man....

Yeah I now have 2 450C's and two five gallon tanks. Works fantasic Also, I have it set up so that I can fill the tanks with my compressor at home so that I am not using the Viairs that much.

I don't mean to hijack the tread but maybe expand it a bit. In addition to powering horns, how big of a setup is needed to be used as an air source? Topping off tires, firing ampact wrench to loosen nuts (hand iron to spin 'em) will a 10 gallon 450C do the trick?

quick ?. i have an air horn already found it in the shed had it hooked to a portable air tank i think 1 gallon hooked it up to it and ran it on the truck and i had to refill the tank every 5 times i used it. it was a pain. im lookin for a compressor and new tank. what compresser and tank size do you recommend to run an air horn, inflate tires every now and then and run an impact off to break lugs loose every now and then? thanks
