traded my 06 for a 97, what do you think?

I don't think I would get rid of my 24V for a 12V. I did say, though, that I would like a 12V in addition to my 24V.
I also think that a 24V rattles in a little nicer tone than a 12V. And of course either one is leagues beyond the gasser-like purr of a third gen

Paul,
I completely agree and to be honest I'll probably own this truck until the frame rusts apart.
BUT, I think it's safe to say those of use with 24V VP powered trucks will most likely spend more money per mile to replace the VP then we will spend money per mile to maintain our front ends, which is probably the only serious issue on a 12v. The only downfall is we got the crappy front end AND the vp44.
I love my engines sound, I love adjustability and power on the fly, I love my creature comforts, newer interior, etc....
I just have to say that going from the 06 to a 97 was a great decision. I always contemplate a CR truck, but I still love my styling and know deep inside the the CR trucks have their fair share of expensive issues when compared to a VP truck.

I'm in the same boat. Here at the first of the year I'm gonna put my 03 up for sale and my buy a 98 24v.
I'll go from owin bout 19k to around 8k and I know the man who had the truck, it's been took good care of has a straight body never modded and the man who had it before him was an older man.
Just got to thinkin, the more money I save on the payment and insurance I can put back into the truck.

I did the same thing sold the 99 for an 05 sold the 05 for a 12 and 24 valve just can't decide which one to keep. The only thing I can decide on is I'm much happier in a second gen. I liked my 3rd gen but the seconds just seem to be a meaner truck.

KVD,
Got any photos? Seems like maybe a 99 24V with the Sport package might be better to you?
I was actually just telling my girlfriend this morning that I'm tempted to go to a third gen for the body style, newer suspension, etc...
