Traction Bars Installed- Pics!

Got my traction bars on at the very LAST minute.. We left for the DHRA pull Saturday night at 3:30 and made a 3.5 hour drive in 2.5 hours..

Travis G calls these traction bars "42 footers" but they are really only 91" (which is longer than I thought I was going to go.
The tubing is 2" OD DOM .25" wall.. They didn't seem to flex at all down in Union Grove, and the tires didn't rub all the paint off the fenders!

Please note, these bars were NOT made for appearance! They will be prettied up later

There will also be a 3rd 5/8's bolt put through the frame in the 1/4" plate you see.. Didn't have time to drill it.

Thanks again Joe K, Le Rae, and Joe K's dad

Here you go!
http://www.dhraonline.com/

Closest pull to you would be Rosebud MO. I should be there.

The tires didn't rub the paint off of the tires!?! I'm shocked!

Anyways, since I'm not big on the towing/ sled pulling/ off roading/ suspension side of things, anybody care to explain what the traction bars are good for? Do they reduce frame flexing or do they transfer some weight from the front axle to the rear one?

They help reduce axle wrap. I meant to say the tires didn't rub the paint off the fenders.
The last time I pulled they were rubbing BADLY!

Nice job.

Thanks

OK, so how much to make a set for me, for my short bed QC? I thought about doing some pulling, but not until I have some ladder bars, or the like.
I heard that at a pull here on Saturday half the Fords out there dropped their rear driveshafts. I'm not going to be one that does that.

Thanks,
Chris

Looks good man. Better get some extra u-bolts, just for insurance. Have you put it up on a rock to see if it made a difference on ur travel of the rear axel.

-Logan

Just an idea to make them alittle easier on the eyes add a shock hoop, and run a short shock for more support. Like I said just an idea, but what the hell do I know.
