Not necessarly. for what im doing, i could have went with m4's ($900) and the hrvp ($1700) Or, i could go with the m6's ($1200) and dad's so pump (free) and get the same power

So i save myself $1400!

even at that, you could do the SO pump for a grand and the m6's and still save yourself 400 bucks. Hope this is understandable.....

And to think that the significant other says this site is a waste of time. blackdiesel just showed us how to save $400 when modifying our trucks. What significant other wouldn't appreciate her man trying to save money.

Has anyone put a SO into a HO truck? I'm sure that it would work. I just don't how the ecm and VP would respond to the change.

ill make sure to tell everybody in a few days. I know a HO truck will run with a SO ecm, but i dont think they would the other way around.

I will change out the ecm's anyway, because i dont think dad's SO truck will run with a HO pump and the stock ecm.

Cool, neat stuff man. Blackdiesel, how much boost you pulling with your turbo? The most I've seen on mine running 3500ft is 65psi of boost. It was a fast run that scared my brother. I pull from 60mph to 120mph in about three - four seconds. My truck passes like a dream. Passing a semi, I can almost go from 60mph to 100mph by the end of the rig. Almost break the hides loose sometimes. Wet forget hooking up. I think your turbo is too small running a SO pump and mach 6, but its be neat to findout. You'll probably need 60 to 70psi to clean the smoke on a unported head/cam truck.

OK, I’m still getting over the shock of you pulling 48k combined weight (that’s like more than half what an 18-wheeler caries).
I was scared to pull a 13k trailer, I though my truck would fall apart or something.

But back to the subject, I’m probably wrong, but aren’t the ECMs keyed to each truck by the VIN? What about your odometer, aren’t the total miles stored on the ECM? I know on GM ECMs, they have to be reflashed/reconfigured at the dealer before they work on another car. Anyways, I guess you’ll find out one way or the other

I forgot you were on drugs already
I guess that and the ho pump are the reasons you're not having egt issues?

the odometer isnt in the ecm.

A guy drove from alaska, to texas. There he picked up a trailer. And on his way back he pick up a shop with tools and drove back to alaska in a 3/4 ton pulling 43k.

Blackdiesel, are you going to try and run the SO pump with the stock HO ecm just to see if they work? I was told you don't need to change the ecm, but sure would like to back that up with something. thanks

This will be interesting to see how this pans out. If this turns out it will be good news for alot of HO's running out there.
