Torque converter recommendations

Torque converter recommendations
After looking at all of the choices of torque converters, I can't make my mind up on what to buy. I do not plan on making many more modifications to my truck other than 4" or 5" exhaust, I'm mainly looking for mileage anyway. (that's what I tell my wife) I run a Diablo Power Puck on an otherwise stock truck. My converter finally went south with 184,000 miles on it. I obviously do not want to put a stock OEM converter back in it as I do pull with it occationally and do not want to worry about letting the smoke out of the wrong end of the truck. I looked at the "Triple Lock" the "Storm" and a few others. Any yay's or nay's would be helpfull.
Thanks!!!!!
Thanks!!!!!

I wouldn't take anything for my Suncoast TripleLOC. It has added a whole new dimension to power & pulling. I pull with mine all the time. If you don't want to spend quite as much money , the Suncoast single disc is quite a bit bigger & stronger than a stock TC.

Call Dave at Goerends (www.gbtransmissions.com) or call Bill at DTT (www.dieseltrans.com) and discuss your plans with them.

I am absolutley satisfied with my ATS. You can't go wrong with any of the big name name builders though. Take the 4 names in this thread: Suncoast, GB, DTT, and ATS... stick them up on a dart board, then close your eyes and throw a dart. You won't be disappointed with any of them.

DTT is the best but it depends on your budget.

ATS ?
DO a search over at TDR, there a few people who claimed to have had warranty issue, one fella when through two transmission, I not sure of all the details, but the post are within the last three months.
I would agree there are a lot of positive comment and people who swear by ATS too.

I have been emailing back and forth with Dave at Goerend Brothers and he walked me thru the entire testing process to determine it it was an electrical solenoid issue, a hydraulic issue or the torque converter itself.
We have determined it is the torque converter and he recommended either the single disc with a new valve body or the triple disc and the original valve body as long as I don't exceed 350hp. If I am to exceed 350HP then he recommended the VB with the triple disc as well.
He is going to walk me through a few other things to check once the transmission is out of the truck, like some of the seals.
With customer service like that and I am not even a customer, he has won my business.

If I were an auto tranny guy, I'd rank the major TCs this way:
Suncoast
Goerend
DTT
ATS
If I were to rank the WHOLE TRANNY package, then it would be:
DTT
Suncoast
Goerend
ATS
JMO, as a manny guy with experience with autos....
