My truck put down uncorrected 670 to 680rwhp runs on PDR dyno last winter just on #2. My twins start to clean up the smoke at around the 50-60psi boost mark. On intial spool-up on 5X5 she's a little smokey My egt's start to peg after about 4 seconds. This truck would luv a good shot of NOS to wake her up.

Doug Smith did 610 with a single turbo, Diesel only on a DynoJet, but that was an old school B-1 turbo. Not the heftier stuff that is out there now.

He will prolly kill me for forgetting but Scott @ MassDiesel did 630 HP on Diesel with one of the big singles, stock cam, and Mach 7's.

I almost forgot about that.......

Not to rain on the parade that this thread has become, but....

What the heck is the big secret with the mods? I mean, anyone else who is capable of doing so has the cash to try every darn charger/chargers, every electronic box available, all of the different sticks made, and have all the headwork you could possibly need. It's not like there is some million dollar prize for laying the most power down on the dyno.

Take for instance, Doug Smith, all you have to do is ask him what it took him to get to 6XXhp and he'll tell you everything. I just don't get what the big deal is.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but what is the point of starting a thread like this and then try to get everyone guessing about the components used to make XXX power? If you have something interesting to say just come out and say it, we're all big boys here and I'm certain that if someone really wants to set the bar higher they will find a way regardless of the "secrets" that threads like this hold.

I think its good to push the VP boundries, regardless of price. It takes a smart person to make big HP with no money, it takes big money to make big HP with little thought. I'll give you that one. To have the baddest VP truck you need both but more on the smart side. Since, I'm not that smart, I'm still waiting for Don to release his kick butt dyno winning VP pump. I want to win back some of the P pump boys.

Simple answer to this question is...ITS NOT MY TRUCK!!!
If it were mine then I would tell you every last little detail. But when I talk about someone elses mods I am not going to give the whole thing away.

I am not one to hold back much...if you really read this thread all the info is already here on what mods it took to make that power.

The point of the thread was to see what the top numbers are anyways.

I previously made 640, but am currently nowhere near that. The stock head gasket did not like that power level. I took it back down so I can leisurely build a head in my spare time instead of pushing everything aside to fix my truck.

I lost my VP this week and installed a HO to get me back home. It is my understanding the SO pump is the ticket for big numbers. Is this correct, or is the Hot Rod pump the way to go?
