Go to the FAQ's. Pretty interesting. And for those wondering, my friend paid about $175 for the complete setup. That did not include his 24 roll of scott 1000 in the backseat though LOL.
he said change the TP every 3-4K miles And the oil stays clean. I'd like to see an oil analysis though.

I've want to pick up one of these for a while now. Do some searches over at theBob is the Oil Guy Forums. Many people have had extremely good luck with them. The people over on that forum are more **** with there oil than anybody I have ever seen.

I've got one installed on my truck. When I first installed it a few thousand miles ago, I did it in-between my oil change interval. So I put it on while my oil had already been used for a few thousand miles. The oil noticeably cleaned up and less soot was visible. Went from a darker grey to lighter amber color within just a few hundred miles. I was impressed. It's the best for filtration. Only reason people would choose to buy another bypass filter like Amsoil is because the TP element filters you gotta change out often (3500 miles or so). So if you put a lot of miles on your truck it can be a pita. Other bypass filters are good too.

40 years ago the City of Stockton, CA had 3 large industrial generators used to pump sewage at their waste water treatment plant. These were primarily powered by methane gas from the digesting waste. The engines held about 50 gallons of oil each so regular changes were quite costly. They installed multiple bank Franz TP filters (9 rolls total each if I recall) to extend oil changes. They changed filters and tested the oil regularly and found that additives were gradually depleted and viscosity became heavier with time. They were able to extend oil change frequency by about 3X. 3 X 50 gallons X 1/3. The savings were substantial.

I use the oilguard bypass (Racor). Just changed my oil with 20k for mileage on same by pass filter which filters down to 1 micron. I change my fleetguard every 7500k just like manual says to. blackstone said with my current sample results I could go another 10k and then sample again. Plus I use valv 5W40 synthetic I am sure that helps as well. I just wasn't interested in the mess of changing tp and adding makeup oil every 3500k.

I think it'd be a good idea especially for those of use running big sticks. Take that extra soot back out of the oil. If you could double your changing interval it'd pay for itself in four to six changes.
And its okay if the oil got heavier over time because the fuel in the oil is going to thin it back out??
Dfranks- are you saying you're going to get 17.5k oil change intervals with that setup? I know you said 7500 per filter. I guess Blackstone knows best =P

I have thought about getting the amsoil setup one day, running amsoil oil, along with having an oil analysis done. If you do go for extended intervals it is a good idea to have an analysis taken of your oil to see what is going on in there.

I think you should get an analysis before you install a bypass filter. That way you know if there's anything wrong with your engine. The bypass filter would hide any problems that would otherwise show up in an oil analysis, I'd think.
