Tires! Yokohama (285) vs Nitto (295)
Well the time has come for some new tires .... Had Bridgestone Duelers A/T, they were decent just looking for something new. Was hoping someone who has had the following tires will chime in and point out any pro's and con's. Leave the price out of it, with free shipping on the Nitto's its only about $20 difference.
Yokohama Geolandar A/T Plus II from tirerack.com Size: 285/75SR16
Nitto Terra Grappler from discount tire LT295/75R16D1
I like the fact the Geolandar's are S speed rated. But I like the fact that the Nitto's are slightly larger. So let me hear what you have to say about either tire. Anyone that has 295's....any rubbing with stock suspension?
thanks in advance auto truck w/4.10's

I have the Nitto T.G's on my truck in the 295 size.Love these tires, they wear decent & not very noisy.Only rubbing I get is when wheels turned all the way to one side but its a very small amount.Best looking tire out there also, not a big fan of R.W.L's.

Just put a set of the 285/75/16 Yokohama's on my wifes 2 dr Tahoe. The road manners are great and they did good in some light mudd yesterday. The load rating is 3305 @ 65psi. Thats a little better than the 315 BFGs on my Dodge

Had geolanders on they were a pretty good tire looked good but prefer BFG A/T's. BFGs last about 13k longer. I use my truck for hauling and change out my tires once a year. The geolanders didn't make the year or mileage. But for looks the geolander A/T II's look awsome and if you are not pulling aload that often the geolanders will give you the miles.

Funny you are looking at both of these tires, 'cause I have had both of them, in exactly those sizes. The Yokohamas came on the truck when I bought it, and they were very nice tires, quiet, tame and seemed to have worn well given the number of miles the previous owner said he put on them. When I bought the truck I switched to the Nitto's because I thought they looked a lot better and the price couldn't be beat (worked a little "Hebrew magic" with a local tire dealer and got all 4 mounted and balanced with the roadhazard warranty for $622). After putting about 21,000 on the Nittos I can say that I don't think you can do any better for price, looks, wear and performance. The only gripe I have with them is in the rain (boost+1/4" standing water+telephone pole= trouble) where they tend to hydroplane easily due the the width. Go with the Nitto's, you won't be disappointed. Just my .02$,

Guess I should also ask, if you see snow, hows the winter driving on the tire your commenting on?
Thanks so far, looking for a local source for each tire. If only the Yokohama came in 295/75/16 ....I'd go for it. But the "size" of the Nitto keeps drawing me back to them
