Tire size
#2
I cleared 315 75 16's with mine. Never rubbed, even off road at full lock and full articulation.
That said, I put in a new track bar from auto zone and it was apparently longer that the old one, it shifted my axle to the passenger side a bid and then my rubber would rub at full lock. Not enough to damage the mudders, just enough to make an annoying ping ping ping as each lug rubbed the control arm.
My point is, if your axle remains centered or if you buy an adjustable track bar, yes 315's will never rub, but if your axle does not stay centered, they will rub a little on one side at full lock.
I have since downsized to 285's. I love them compared to the 315's on stock rims. 315's were way to wide for stock steel rims. 315's ate fuel mileage, lasted 29K miles, slowed me down at takeoff, killed my front end tie rods etc, and were scary on the ice.
285's are now my favorite tire size for my truck.
But you really can run 35x12.50's on stock wheels with just a 2" front spring spacer.
