What is Haulin_in_Dixie talking about? He's using this "trueing" term like we all know what he's saying.

Trueing is when the tires are lightly shaved so that they are perfectly round and concentric with the hub. This is done with the tire on the wheel, so any runout in the wheel is compensated for by the tire trueing.

Well you should. Trueing is where you make the surface even and flat all the way across.

For those that want the best in tire wear, I have 115,000 miles on the drive tires on my truck and that is pulling my loads. They are Michelen XPS Rib. A $200.00 tire but well worth it.

I was talking about the tires that haulin is running. I know the beads work for all tires. I'm just waiting to get new tires to install them.

Ok I'm sold on beads. Here is my question...I had a little disagreement with a son's "friend" cured by a show of chest size and bicept size and function that never the less left me with 8 screws scattered in my 6 tires. Removal required 3 plugs and one hot patch. In the future with my new tires, should this happen with "beads" , do I need to replace them in the tires affected??? I guess the real question is: will the plugs and patch still seal?? Do they stick all over, never to be removed??

The tires were removed from the rims for repair.

guess that's what "road hazzard" warrantee is for. haha

Most of the time the beads get lost during a flat fix. Suppose if a good tire shop was warned they could salvage them though. I carry an extra bag of beads in the glove box just in case of a flat. Plugs and patches don't seem to make any difference in the beads performance, I was concerned when I picked up a nail also.

I don't think patches make much of a difference but I don't know about a plug since they stick down so far. Did you get that patched or plugged Bill?

Am I the only one that notices if you pull a hole shot that the beads seem to negatively affect the balance until up to speed?

Jeff, I had mine plugged but asked Robert who sells the beads and he said no problem with patches either.
I've found that I have to hit a hole pretty hard to unbalance the beads, only takes a couple of seconds and they are balanced again.
