Yup. I'm running the centramatic balancers. Same principle as the beads but instead of getting installed inside the tire they are a disc that gets slid behind the rim. They work great on my truck. centramatic.com

Hey Doc,

May want to shoot Infidel a PM; he's using the beads, and if I recall correctly, swears by them.

I just got the centramatic balancers too. Didn't really need them with the tires I'm running now, but for $45.00 for the set I couldn't pass them up. They did smooth out the ride.

Just do it doc. I have them and they REALLY work. Just think about it. Even a rock in the treads, mud on the rim, tire wear, throws the balance off and causes vibration at high speeds. The beads correct ANY imbalance all the time.

Just do it doc.

It was a darn good deal. TigerRag found them at a local tire company in Winston-Salem, NC. The place is called Parrish Tire off of Kapp St. 336-661-1392 ask for Carl. Might be worth a call to see if he will ship you out a set at a good price.

Lead weights are ancient technology that's destined to go the way of the dinosaurs.
I wouldn't consider anything but beads in any vehicle.
These are the best ones http://www.innovativebalancing.com/
The only negative is if they are improperly installed.

After the owner of my local tire shop tried them in his hard to balance Ford dually a few years ago they have been recommending them to all their customers. Most people go for them and are happy, they won't fix a bad tire though. His main use for the balance machine now is to find out of round tires.

same as sand?

I'm running the tire sand in my tires.. I love not rebalancing, or throwing weights. . my tires have no shake even at 110 MPH.. I have a 325/50/R22 Toyo Open Country A/T.. good tire btw.. pice tag scares me everytime I think about having to replace them tho.. 475$/tire

I tried the Equal brand sand in my Mack and wasn't too impressed. You have to keep it real dry or it will glob up. I was running crossfire tire pressure equalizers and the sand was always fouling them where they wouldn't work.

I switched to the centramatic balancers and have never looked back. I need to find a set for the beast. 315's are a little hard to keep balanced.

nOne, with sand don't you have to be careful about using non-dried air to fill your tires?

This is the problem with some of the other bead brands, any moisture in the tire can cause the beads to clump or freeze in one place causing major problems.
