JimmieD! I don't remember the model sorry but it was the tires that come
on it when I bought it new, also I had a alligment done on it once a year.

Thanks Moose, check this link out:
http://www.michelinman.com/catalog/index_6.html

Scrolling down the box on the left gives a thumbnail review of each tire. According to Michelin one of their top tires is the LTX M/S, same as you mentioned before in this thread! It has a treadware rating of 10, plus some of the best winter/mud and a rating of 9 for quiet. Now all I have to do is pray that Costco has some kind of door-buster sale on these!

Rotate whatever you get religously. A buddy of mine does his every oil change, and I usually do as well.

Good advice nick!

I do mine every other change, and ull be surprised, i bought a set of wally world 285 liberators, and they have close to 40K on them and still have about 1/3 thread or so left. Not bad for "cheapy" 400 dollar set of tires...

I check pressure once a week tho and keep them up to speed..

Agreed on the rotation issue! I was careful to rotate my last two sets of tires and got excellent wear. When I didn't rotate they were gone as a set in no time. I've been using the Liberators and will check if they come in an 'E' rating. They're too flexible in the sidewall for towing in the non-E class but otherwise they're not bad at all.

Next most reasonable bang for the buck seems to be BFG Commercial T/A 235/85/16 from Costco at about $115 per, 245/75/16 @ $120, and 265/75/16 @ $136, all 10 ply.

Surprises me how difficult it is to decipher what you're actually getting in a set of tires, and how they will handle and wear in the real world! I sure appreciate all the excellent feedback, guys!!

I've got 73K on my Michelins and still going. They'll probably need replacing before winter so that'll get me right around 80K or better. My truck came originally with the Goodyear Wrangler AT's and I could only get about 38K out of those. I'll admit, the Wranglers were much better in the snow than the Michelin LTX's but I needed something a little more high mileage so I had to compromise.

BFG's are $116 to $136 for the Commercial T/A's rated E. Michelin's run from $165 to $190 for the LTX M/S and A/T Loadrange E. That comes out to almost 2 free tires in BFG's. compared to Michelin prices. Michelins wear half again to twice as long. Seems like it may just boil down to personal preferences and handling characteristics regarding the dollars and cents? Ha haha, that's why I asked for help.....THANKS ALL!

Try WalMart, they can order the Michelins and they're pretty cheap. I want to say I got mine for about $140 a piece there.

Thanks, Gearhd6. Out here Costco is the hot ticket for discounted tires, even cheaper than Wally World. The nice thing about Wally is there's stores in every area of the country. I'll be sure and double check with Wally's before I buy from Costco. Are there any Costco stores in the eastern states?
