the dd's have came a long way from a couple years ago. they are very managable on the street, and hold very well. i can launch at redline with my 500 hp truck with 0 slippage. little harder pedal pressure, but who cares. very worth it IMO.
yeah they make single disks that hold 550 or so, but you cant launch on them. if you slip them, their gone. The dd's are made to slip. Cant go wrong with south bend's clutches

Hydraulics are $200 from sbc.
My clutch can be a pita to get into gear from a stop and I have to go into 5th before I go into reverse but I still <3 my sbc. Like blackdiesel said a dd will hold up to a lot of abuse. Call Peter up and see what he has to say- he'll probably hook you up considering you have a fe.
What happened to the fe? High rpm launches?

if you have a early 6 spd you will need/want the bigger input shaft, and anybody that tells you that a DD is not friendly to drive has either never driven one or can't drive a stick

Can always send Peter a PM on here.
He reccomended the 3600 lbs. clutch for my truck, and mine is a daily driver, and after the clutch, hopefully a weekend racer. The 3600 lbs. clutches are rated to 650 hp, which should tide me over, atleast for a while.

i suggest that if you are gonna sled pull spend a few extra bucks for a 3850, im not sure how much more it is...but its worth it for the extra peace of mind. the upgraded hydraulics are only $100 i think, and they are worth it too. i have the 3850 in mine, and it feels similar to stock with the hydraulic upgrade
