Time For Injectors, IMO!

but the ol lady doesn't think so

anyway, i hit 100,000 miles a while back and when it gets warm one of these days i'm gonna adjust the valves and since i'll have the valve cover off, hey why not get some new, bigger injectors in the ol girl right?!

so i'm looking on opinions in:
what brand?
what size?
where to buy?
etc.?

ok, i have a strict budget of no more than $450 so keep that in mind.
i have the mods in my signature, and yes the tranny is stock and i know the risks but that's why i'm asking what size, i want an injector in the "safe" range for my application but i do have plans and building the tranny in the future, its just that funds won't allow it now. i'm just looking for basically an affordable, reliable injector that will show a noticable abount of power.

thanks for the help guys...

Look on Ebay you might find some injectors for $450, Or you can order tips from jammer. I dont know if I'd go any bigger than stage 2s with an HY-35. I was very happy with my stage 2s when I put then in last year.

How much is a valvebody? That way you're starting to beef up the tranny for future fun, but it would probably help make the truck a little bit quicker. You're not making more power, but getting more to the ground.

I second Tate, get a valvebody instead. Or a transgo shift kit. No sense in buying injectors twice. If you want to be in the safe range and insist on injectors, get some RV 275 new knock off's from Pensicola Diesel for 250 shipped to your door. Perfect mild upgrade, will not hurt the tranny more than your smarty already does, and brand new.

But if I did it all again, and i had an auto, I would do the tranny upgrades first, at least a valvebody and torq conv.

Thats kinda the aproach I'm taking with my truck, upgrade all the drivetrain stuff so I can support the power once I'm making it. Its not the funnest way to do it, but I think it pays off in the end. Ofcourse most of the stuff I'm replacing now is shot anyways

Bigblue24, that sounds like a really good price for new 275's. Is that what they are comparable too? Is a boost fooler needed with them?

Last I checked they were 250 shipped. Now 258!

And yes, I have ran these. They make the advertised power, not sure exactly how they compare since I have never ran real 275's. But they were clean, idled well, and most of all, the price was right.

As far as boost fooler, I'd imagine that the stock wastegate is big enough to keep boost within factory specs. You will get more out of them with a boost fooler, but hey, make a cheap 10 dollar jumper to send 1.98 v? to the map sensor signal wire. I don't know the actual voltage, something less than 5 volts for sure.

I'm tempted to get a set of those just to hold me over till I can afford something better. I think mine could use a new set of injectors.
