time for bigger injectors
I was wonder if anyone could tell me which would be the better injector to upgrade to whether I should go full tilt and get the 370's or maybe go with the 300's or would I get enough from some stock 215's does anyone have any Idea on horsepower gains on these different injectors. Would anyone have a set of used 215's laying around? My truck is a 95 auto with a # 6 plate and bhaf filter

Re:time for bigger injectors
A '95, AT will require much modification to withstand more than 180 HP. The Dodge detuning to 160 HP was to avoid AT problems under warranty. Several aftermarket AT shops offer units that will withstand up to 300 HP. Before spending money on bombing your engine I'd upgrade the AT first. This article may give you some ideas too. horsepower!

Re:time for bigger injectors
On TST's site they reccommend against an injector change for our trucks up to the 300 HP level. Personally though I'd love to get a set of 215's myself. ;D I called and talk to the guys there and they tell me that a #4 plate and stock injector can melt the pistons, I can't imagine myself trying to tow with fuel fired furnace double injected! ;D
Re:time for bigger injectors
I had talked to piers and he said the 215's were one of the best upgrades we could do do to their angle of injection to the bowl on the top of the piston he said that smoke should go down a little and power should come up about 50hp across the power band. But I cannot find a used set of 215's so I thought I would get some input on the others. Matt

Re:time for bigger injectors
I am basically stock, I want to get a box in the future, but too much money right now. would injectors help a stock motor much, if so which ones. I like all the smoke and horsepower I can get. Thanks
Heath

They could give you an over boost condition in the computer. With the price of the injectors..you are over half way to the price of an EDGE EZ. the EZ will fool the computer so that you wont have an over boost condition.
Good path is ...gauges,fueling box,injectors..

Rick

skip the 215's...trust me
but then again for ~$100, it's a great price

they give a little more power (around 25hp and 75tq). that's good for towing, but not enough if you're a power junkie like me. i already want to go to 300's or 370's.

Tom

Rammer,

Is there any benefits to running the marine 370hp pump? This is the first I have heard of it and it sounds very interesting to me.

John

Re:time for bigger injectors
john, i bought the pump because it had 12 hours on it and had been fully rebuilt. i also got it for a great price. the pump does run better than my 180. emissions-NOx- has increased though, but i don't have emissions testing. the pump starts up immediately. the throttle is different, but works fine once you get used to it. the 215 pump seems to be the best for full power though, unless you want to jump up to the race pumps. still though, i like the marine pump better than the stock one.

Tom

Re:time for bigger injectors
Get 370 injectors or for less smoke and the same HP get DDII's it's only money anyway. Everyone I know with the 215's or 300's end up changing injectors to the 370's, DDII or custom injectors.

ARAcummins you need the box first and then the injectors.
Bruce
Re:time for bigger injectors
he could go with injectors. ARA, you'll get more smoke with injectors, than with a box (unless it's a comp or something...i'm talking like an EZ). 275s are usually pretty cheap and yeild ~40hp increase. it's never enough though also, you'll have to start worrying about that stock clutch. however, just keep it above 2000rpms before you get into the throttle pretty good and you'll probably be all set.

Tom
