those who run Nitrous questions inside

i'm looking at spraying my truck here in the near future..... i've sprayed MANY gasers and was wandering these questions:

at what rpm do ya'll activate the nitrous to start spraying? i know on a gas burner you spray @ 3K once the timing advances.....

i'm gonna spray a dry shot and it'll be small to begin with but what's is the biggest dry shot someone has sprayed? what is the average dry shot that is sprayed?

if i were to add fuel like on a gaser what would i use? Mehtanol? or just turn the fuel up some more (ie bigger DV or injectors)?

i know i'm forgeting some things but if i rember them i'll post them up later.. thanks Benjamin

i haven't done it but from all the reading on a diesel you have it set to turn on with a pressure switch off of the boost.. if i ever did mine I would set it about 7-10 psi to only turn it on when i want the get up and go. hope this help, but i think you need to do alot more reading unless you want to kill your truck diesels are nothing like cars.

My set-up for next year when the track opens has a hobbs switch set at 25 psi. That allows me to launch at 15 to 20 pounds and then the bottle activates. My truck spins all 4 if I launch much over 20 pounds anyway so this gives a little room.

How much smoke you have on wot? This will determine the size of your NOS spray nozzle size for your application. The best results when running nos are when your turbo can't clean-up your smoke and you leave a nice smokey black trail behind you. I would run a pressure switch so that your spraying over 25psi boost. Have a bottle warmer and buy a big bottle so those fords and chevy don't stomp on your party. Big injectors are a sweet ticket for NOS rides. You could also throw in some methanol and then go put up some big numbers on the dyno. Happy hunting.

i have a nice haze now at WOT and i can lower the boost to thicken it up some...... i have a pressure acticated switch that i could use..... i guess that'll be the safe way...... how much are guy's spraying safely?

Which injectors you running? How much advance you running? I'm not an 12v guy but I would start small first and see how your tranny takes the NOS. I would also limit your wategate to a lower number so you don't blow a head gasket. Your gonna make more power than not running nos so your gonna make more boost. Your wastegate may have a hard time keeping up. Measure your drive pressure. If your not running o-rings and head studs keep to around 50psi. If you have o-rings and studs do a re-torque and push the envolpe to 70-80psi. If you like replacing head gasket push up your advance. I would start with a 200hp kit. Just playing with your Jets/nozzles until your happy.
