Exclamation For those running with a BHAF

Be sure and check to make sure the intake hose is still clamped on. I had mine pop off this weekend. Kinda made me horrified to think the engine was suckin down unfiltered air.

I try to remember to check mine at each fillup.

Haven't had a problem yet.

what brand BHAF are you running? I've never had a problem w/ Fleetguard or LubeFiner... just crank that hose down tight... never had one come loose.

I've personally seen two popped off for who knows how long.
Big reason why I won't use one...

If you put a short piece of 4" pipe or tubing inside the flange on the BHAF it will be much more secure. The BHAF is designed to clamp over a pipe, not to have a hose clamped over it - this leads to problems sometimes.

With a short chunk of 4 inch PVC pipe you can retain your filter minder (some people want to keep it even though it isnt all that accurate)...

Hmm. I have a 4" chunk from the bottom of my stack. I think I'll use that...

I saw this posted about intercooler boots poping off and I think it would work for the BHAF's also.

I don't want to take the credit for it but they said to clean both surfaces and use Hair spray on both surfaces, let it dry then put it together. This sounds like if it will work on 50psi why won't it work on an intake.

I've used a wix filter and never had any troubles before. Just cranked it down tight and that was it.

Mine popped off of my wix BHAF. I took two self tapping #6 screws and sent them through the clamp, hose and filter neck. Haven't had a problem since.

- Take the filter/hose assy off of the turbo and knock any chips out if you do this.

I'm running the Fleeguard marine BHAF and check it on a regular basis. No problems to date.

On a side note, I have an Air Raid intake on my Jeep and that has popped off once.
