So you haven't tried the turbo yet? Well I each time I drive the truck, the more I like the turbo. So far, its held up as good or better than the Holset turbos that I've ran before. The s300 is slightly better than the holset HX-40 that similar in size. I've had Holset coke up and fail faster than this garret has. I've towed heavy and the garret is still spinning as good the day I installed it. I've even push hard on the egt's to see if I could kill it, its still spools faster than any turbo I've ran prior. One drive, you'll change you're mind. The S300, I'm still not sold on it. Its too expensive to try to just find out its just marginally better. The garrett is the same money, and it will perform. If you need a bigger turbo, the garrett will be decent driver as a single, with less lag that typical for the big turbo crowd.

I haven't tried one, and probably won't. My B-1 has withstood more abuse than most will ever see, and is still working great on a friends truck. The motor let loose, only reason it isn't still on my truck. I'm most likely going with a 66mm turbo. I'm seriously leaning towards the HTT Pro Street 66/71/16.

An S300 variant will hold up to extreme pressures better than the Garrett will, hands down. My motor failure was caused by pressure, not heat.

If considering going with the Prostreet 66, I would spend a couple extra dollars and go with the Silver bullet, I believe it is a better charger for making more power. And I have ran a Pro Street 66 before.

I would, but the 73mm turbine wheel is holding me back. And I want the thing to flow on the exhaust side. I'm not going to II, getting a SB66, taking it to HTT and getting a 16cm housing. My personal preference, we'll see how it does once the motor is together.

Boy that one is confusing.
Not going to II, but getting a Silver Bullet, then taking it to HTT?

16cm housing is going to be a LAG PIG!

LOL... what he said ^^^^ why wouldn't you just pick a brand and have what you want built. I love my SB but, think I'd be just as happy with something HTT can build.

In fact, HTT's competition turbo has a whole lot going for it. I want to upgrade one of these days and thought of going with II's new Phatshaft but, comparing it to HTT's competition series... I think I've changed my mine. HTT's stuff is machined to their spec and the customers specs where II gets them in bulk and are pre casted.

I'm NOT getting a Silver Bullet. Read what I said. I'm not going with two seperate places to get what I want. The 66/71/16 is what I'm wanting. II doesn't have anything bigger than the 14 cm turbine housing, so I'd have to go to HTT to get one, not gonna happen.

A few guys have run 16 cm housings and been very unhappy, others have been very happy. My setup should do very well with the 16 cm stainless housing. I have talked with a couple guys who ran 62/71/14 chargers, and upgraded to the 16 cm, and are very happy with it. To me, having the extra flow, with minimal lag over the 14 cm cast housing, is all worth it. I have a manual, 4.10s and 305's for tires, I can drive around the lag.
