thinking of a 66mm turbo -input?
Hey guys, got most of a billet tranny now.Soon to be oringed and studded.I want a turbo that i can make into a set of twins later for big numbers.Gonna run ddp 4's most likely and some 022's or lasers. How laggy is this gonna be?Is the smoke controllable ?what do you reccomend HTT or industrial inj?

For street driving? A 66mm in a set of twins is going to be super laggy. As a single its still going to have alot of lag, too much for the street without leaving a black trail. Smoke control...when you go that big you don't worry about the amount of smoke. I would suggest a 64mm that way if you have ALOT of fuel you can use it in twins later on. Just my opinion

Go for it. If it doesn't work out , change it. That's half the fun of it.
It's just hard for me to believe that 2mm is gonna make or break anything.
Nobody thinks twice about recommending the jump from a 65mm exducer to a 71 wheel and that is a bigger jump then the 2mm comp wheel difference between the 66 and the 64 you recommend.

Full cuts can be smokey, but we just got back from Indy. Actually we went to Columbus ohio friday from Champaign Il on 3/4 tank 15.8 mpg with full cuts, silver 66, 300 marine inj and 26* timing. Filled up in columbus, drove to indy, drove around (no cool afterhours stuff this year) drove home today and got 15.6 mpg. I have the fuel receipts to show for this. I think the silver bullet is a awesome compromise between daily driving and performance. I have tried to relay this info on other sites and been pretty much ridiculed for it but i will tell you i stand behind what i just said. Silver bullet 66 rocks. Tim

A friend of mine just swapped a 66 wheel into his 64/71/.8. He hated it. Big difference in lag. Alot more than the difference between a 62 and a 64. His truck is running in the high 11's so he has a fair amount of fuel.

I love my Silver Bullet 64. I can full spool it (55psi) at 1700rpms, starts to build boost at 1600.
I am running DDP4s, 4kgsk, 100 plate, stage 2 ported and polished head, 3 pc. manifold.
I am waiting for my .024 delivery valves. They are supposed to be in the mail.

I would go with one of II silver series, like the 62/74/14 silver. There is more power to be made with a better performing exhaust side then there would be with 2 or 4mm of compressor wheel. Everybody always overlooks the exhaust side of chargers more than the 62 64 and 66mm compressor sizes.

62mm if you are considering twins. Pick a company you like the best and don't look back. I have had both htt and II turbos. Turbonetics, idk?
I currently have a silver bullet and ddp4s on my truck.

How big is big future hp anyway? A 62/71 over a s480 will support 800 or so HP. Are you thinking north of 8-850 HP? If not, do what all the others have said and get a 62/71/14 from II, or 62/71/13-14 from HTT or Silver 62 if you want to spend more.

I have an HTT sp66 with th 66 mm wheel it does ok on the street little laggy but i just cant keep EGTS low enough, my IC is stock so im compressing the big air and heating it up to much, htt told me this so its going to get a down grade this week to a 62, much more usable to me.

i cant keep my egt under check at cruising speed @ 65-70 mph it kinda sucks i have silver 64 from II.... but i think its more the injectors im running not anything to do with the turbo.. but at 55psi with 50/50 water meth and both blue jets it wont go over 1480 from a launch to 120mph!!!! its fun...
