Re:This Thing work?

I remember reading a bunch about that in previous posts. Seems like the consensus was not impressed. Tubes not long enough to truely straighten out the airflow was the major point.

If you post a topic on www.thedieselstop.com you will have people that swear by them. I don't see how it could work, but I have not tried it to give it a fair chance. Like I said, some Ford people SWEAR by them. :-X

Re:This Thing work?

Here's something I found the other day: On the next to last page of the new summit catalog, there a throttle body spacer for chevy, ford and dodge diesel trucks. It's made by a company called motorvation. Has anybody else seen these things?

Re:This Thing work?

Erics76,
I have a buddy that works for Poweraid Throttle body spacers. I have baught about 5 or 6 of them for the 4.6L and 5.4L when my family had gassers. It worked awesome plus it made this little whistle noise everybody that I have a turbo on the truck that was a 5.4L. I saw that they had them for the 7.3L and the 5.9L Diesel's. I called him up and ask a couple questions like are they worth the money, how much gain, MPG gain, etc. He told me that 2 MPG increase, few extra hp, good amount of tq. But he also told me Dont buy it. You wont be happy with it once you put it on because you went to all that hassle to put it on and you get this. : So I might try it just to see what its like for the Strokes but Ill probaly end up taking it off. Who knows maybe they changed the design alittle. Ill let yall know if I do decide to get one and let yall know what surpises I get. 8)

Re:This Thing work?

Thanks for the info. That's what I was wondering, if it would be worth the effort to put it on. Doesn't sound like it would be. I've put one on a friend's 6.0 gas chevy, and it was easy, but there's no way it'd be that easy on a diesel. I'd like to hear what you think of it when you get one on.
