is there a brake saver available
I have a brake saver in my Pete, Hydraullic retarder or a oil brake I have heard them called. Is there anything like this for our trucks or is this only in the big truck lines. I have also been trying to find a magnetic retarder, with no luck.

I think what you’re looking for is called a drive line retarder, they are pricey and I’m not sure if they make them for your truck. You might want to try your local tow truck up fitters for more info. For the money the exhaust brake is the better way to with amply retarding.

It is true.... Exhaust brakes are hard on Automatics!
Best bet...but a weaker substitute... is a converter lockup switch. Works well in mountains as a partial engine brake. Not like an exhaust brake but only costs about 10 bucks!
