My buddy has a Suncoast VB and a TCI TC, both were used for about 9 months, till he broke his 2nd gear band. he then ordered a DTT tranny. so i offered to buy his VB for $200 he said ok, a week or so went by, he calls and ask if i want the TC also. if so i will get the TC and VB, for giving him a aftermarket exhaust manifold (HTT or ATS,etc) $430 give or take.
so these are my questions, is the TCI TC any good? could it be messed up from the band breaking, can it be flushed or cleaned?
what kind of stall will it have and will my truck be laggy?
he will help me install this stuff also.
should i do this, $430 exhaust manifold for suncoast VB and TCI TC =about $900.
or just get the VB only, just like i intended from the begining?
remember my tranny was rebuilt about 20k miles ago, i think this will prolong its life, but would i like to hear what ya ll think.

you can take this advice with a grain of salt but from my experience of having 3 bad TCI converters 1 being out the box failure and 2 failing at under 10 miles on intial install before racing it (on gas drag cars >400hp) i wouldn't touch one with a 10 ft pole.... i don't know how their diesel converters are quality wise but i do know that the ones they sell for a TH350 and C-4 are weak.... but that's my feelings and my .02
