So I just bought the resistors mentioned above. How are you putting them inline with the ground wire. These resistors are like circuit board resistors that need to be soldered on the board. Are you just soldering them and heat shrinking them inline or what??

Yep you got it, thats exactly what I did.
Cut the ground wire between my fire wall and ground mount as it ran past my drivers side battery, soldered and heat shrinked it in and zip ties it out of the way.
