to answer your question yes it will damage your tranny...i wouldnt try it unless i had like a full ATS tranny setup with their commander and then still id be careful unless i got billet input and intermediate shafts....but you'll like it thats for sure and it might seem fine when you do it but it will speed up the degradation of your TC and a bunch of other parts

Massey man,
Look in my gallery, I have a diagram that will let you lock, unlock and leave the unit in stock working order. I like mine when towing, she just keeps going, and going, etc.. If you guys need I have a copy of the 3 relay setup that I can scan tonight and post tomorrow-let me know.

Superdave4X4,
You need to go to Radio Shack and get a double pole double throw switch ( some people call it an -on/off/on- switch). I used two LED's so I knew what was going on. The "box" on my drawing is the switch. You cut the wire coming from the computer and send it to the center pin on one side of the switch, now you connect the other end of the line you cut to one of the other pins on the same side of the switch, the last pin on that side of the switch goes to a ground. For ground I use a stud with a nut on it just above the e-brake lever. I use the second side of the switch to control the led's, If you need help deciphering that side let me know.

heavyboostin,
The way I wiried the switch, the off position keeps the converter unlocked, the top postiton locks it up and the bottom position is "stock" The up/down positions are relative to the way you connect them to the wiring.

So what your saying is that if I put this switch on and leave it off, I'll have to manually engage the lock up everytime or will it work normally? I just want to be able to lock it up on occasion. Most of the time it will be running stock.

Massey man-yes, works great on my Dad's 96
Blue, there are three positions on the switch, 1st one is stock, second one is unlocked, the third one is the "forced lock-up" In the stock position the truck is just that-stock-you are just rerouting the wires into the cab.

Yes leave the switch in the ungrounded (off) postion and the truck's TC will perform just like stock.
