Tapping the pump wire
Sorry for all of the confusion, trying to repost this message!
My sig is pretty much up to date. Need help in terms of what to do to prep the truck for tapping the wire with the Edge Drag Comp (purchased and installed thanks to JR Adkins!).
I am planning on getting a new clutch in 6 to 8 weeks, and am more wondering about the VP. But can I tap it before the new clutch? Running 35" tires and 3.54 gears has had me concerned about grenading the stock clutch.
I have the Wildcat max fuel flow system set to arrive on my doorstep any day to boot. I have a new LP on with just a couple of thousand miles. Should I add fuel additive to help the VP before I tap as well?
Also, what's the best way to tap the wire? I am leary of using the Scotch connector.
Thanks!
Matt

Where does one get the cover?
Also, any feedback on the VP? I have heard more than one story of tapping the wire and then having it die on the way home.

If you still have the original injection pump, stay close to the house/shop. The early pumps had a pretty good chance of quitting. When I had my comp. box my pump failed on the first 5x5 pull. Just keep it in mind that SOME do fail, and with the early pumps you have much greater risk. Only one way to tell for sure.
Let us know how it goes.

Looks like I will wait until the new clutch goes in and buy the blue chip cover.
I am still rather hesitant to do this with all the feedback I keep getting on grenading the VP.
Maybe a trade in / up to an HPCR vehicle is in line?
More input is always appreciated, and I will definitely keep you all posted. Good thing I got AAA!
