Tap for gauges?
I am starting to install my gauges. I would like to know where to tap in to a switched power and the one for the lights, I want to be able to dim them. I heard that i could tap in to fuse #5 and #13. Is this correct?

Re:Tap for gauges?
For the guage dim I tapped into the wire at the switch, just used a test light to get the right one, for key on power use the cig lighter, Of course I did this some 15 Months ago!

Jim

yep, tap #5 to get the lights to dim... ;D also, you can splice into the wire at the ashtray if you want (some guys have done that as well)

Tony

Re:Tap for gauges?
I went to Radio Shack and bought a pack of fuse taps, and modified two to tap into the dimmer switch and key-on power supplies. The taps had to be shaved a bit to fit, but they seem to work fine.

Re:Tap for gauges?
I was sent fuse taps with my guages they worked and were real easy to put in. One fuse was labeled "ILL" for the illumination of the dash lights and the other was "ign" I think. Use a light to test - I removed the fuses and found that the bottom was the incoming line and the top was the out going side - so I put the fuse taps on top so that the guages were fused.
