Tap for dash dimmer circuit?
I have about 30 minutes to install a fuel pressure gauge tomorrow. So I'm wondering where the easiest place is to tap into the circuit for the dash lights. I bought a steering column mount and have the gauge mounted in it ready to go so I should have enough time. Just didn't want to snoop around for the best place to power my fuel pressure gauge light if I don't have to.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Get one of those fuse taps and install it in the "illumination" fuse ... don't know which number off hand, but I'll check after work if you want?
It's one of these:

I'm not sure what type of fuel pressure gauge you're going to install, but I would be very skeptical that it can be done in 30 minutes unless you meant that the gauge is already functioning and you just need to finish up by illuminating it.

Well...it's already mounted in the steering column mount, the pressure line is attached as well as the power wires. All that I need to do is run the line through the firewall, unthread the plug in the top of the filter housing and install valve and one fitting and attach the line. Then tap into the dimmer circuit and attach the ground wire. Start up, check for leaks, two pieces of double-sided tape and the mount is in place.
Yes, Murphy can always show up ...but a half hour should be enough time.

Orange wire/Brown stripe (or is the the other way around?)
Anyway, probe around behind your headlight switch, should only take a few pokes.
If you don't have a test light, get one.
Good luck, best thing you could do for yourself is get that gauge. (unless it reads a solid 4 when you get it hooked up)

if you have an aftermarket radio in there remove it and use the dimmer wire (shoulod be the orange or orange w/ brown stripe on the adapter harness most harnesses will have it labeled dimmer) that's the easiest place for me to think of.....
