Tamper Proof Screw

Tamper Proof Screw
What is the best/easiest way to remove the tamper proof screw on the afc housing? Any other suggestions on sliding the plate will be helpful too. Thanks in advance.

My favorite method is a cordless drill with a counter clockwise drill bit. For me the bit has always caught and turns the screw out. Even if it doesn't once the head is off and the cover removed the screw will come out easily with pliers.
CC wise drill bits are usually with the bolt extractors at most hardware stores.
Before moving the plate scribe a line on top of the housing even with the front of the plate to mark the stock position for future reference. I find the most power from sliding the plate 1/10" from full forward. Most times the plate screws are very tight, an impact driver, the kind you hit with a hammer is usually in order. Impact drivers are readily available for under $15 and are an essential tool to have.
Make sure when you put the cover back on that you slide it full forward.

Thanks for the help. Plate is now moved foward and the housing also. I had already turned the starwheel so this put the icing on the cake. Now to get some gauges and the 4" exhaust should be here Wed. Nothing but fun. Thanks again.
