tag (turbo air guide)
Has anyone had any experience with the tag? Sounds like a worth while add on especially if you pull a load or have a scotty2.

I have the ScottyII and cut the hole, the TAG works well. Before I put the TAG on it sounded like I was driving while sitting inside the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner on steroids. The TAG fixed the noise problem and also improved spool-up.

The TAG cut probably 70-80% of the noise associated with the BHAF. It also cured some high flow instability associated with towing the 5th wheel at high throttle openings around 2100-2400 RPM or so in 6th gear when climbing grades.
In that respect, it did what I bought it to do.

Most performance checks I have seen with the TAG shows it is not worth the money performance wise, but if it quiets down noise you don't like I guess its worth the money. The $$$ could be spent on better performance upgrades IMHO.

I like my TAG. No earthshaking differences...very subtle....but noticable. Quieter turbo whine...slightly faster spoolup with bigger turbo....2-3 less psi boost required (at gross wt.) to maintain a set cruise speed - which tells me the engine is working a little more efficiently.
I also get a lot less flutter with my B-1 turbo than many others report with theirs. TAG may be the reason?

Quicker spool maybe Less Noise defineately
As said above, I can now run with the scotty 2 open all the time to cowl, I did add sound deading to cowl inlet box in the truck too. The materail I got unfortuately came from when i was in austrilia, I orginally got for a computer case. It was design for hood. seems to be water proof too.

I wouldn't be without a tag because of the sound reduction issue alone. The higher the boost the better the performance gain, I know guys who tow with a tag who have gained 3 mpgs.
If you drive around an empty truck don't expect anything besides sound reduction and faster spool up.

TAG info here http://www.dieselpowerproducts.com/dodge
I've tried both the TAG I and II, the II definitely is better.
