The 47RE is a good tranny, but it could be better. If you have a healthy tranny the VB and TC will make a HUGE difference and add many, many miles to it's life. If it is shot now------rebuild it.

Fill out your sig. What do you do with the truck?

Yeah it completely depends on what shape your tranny is in right now. If it's in decent shape and hasn't slipped yet......then the T/C and valvebody would be the cheapest way to go and will probably last you for quite sometime.

Now on the other hand....if the tranny has a fair amount of miles on it and feels a little weak, then you might just want to save up some extra cash and rebuild the whole thing. In the long run it will save you a little bit of money having it all done the first time.

It would be a great improvement.

Although while the tranny is down I might check the clutches anyways!!

That's perfect.......a TC and valvebody would be they way to go then! But like McMopar said, have then take a peek around when they're working on it just to make sure everything is good to go.
