Switching out Pumps
Hi there, been a while since I have been here, started up my own concrete company, so kinda busy with that, but got a little slow time so am looking back at the combine lol. Anyways it has had a miss coming from the #1 cylinder for quite a while now and it is not the injector. So I have a feeling it is the pump so I am taking it off, but to have it caliburated it is $250 and they will probably going to want to rebuild it so we are looking at upwards of $1200 or more. I have access to a 215 pump for around $400 so I am thinking about swapping it out. I was thinking about putting my 191 DVs in the 215 pump, I also have 215 injector nozzles, and I am going to grind down my plate to a #10 I was thinking. My question is, what should I do to the new pump while it is off as far as adjusting the AFC, starwheel, cleaning etc.
P.S. I will be keeping my old 160 pump at the diesel shop for him to take a look at it one of these days, mabye in the future using it as a project pump to really beef up.
Thanks.
