superchips tuners?

Will the superchips tuner, or any other plug and play, give me much perf. increase on an '01 H.O. engine with a 6 sp.?? I have 4" exh. and AFE filter.

Thanks

You will see an increase with a tuner or a plug in box. You will see a solid 60-65 hp to the tire with the EZ and a little less with the superchips. I recommend Kyle @ FTLB Performance for the purchase.

I have run the superchips, van aaken, and drag comp, for my money I would go with a VA or comp, the tuner is pretty good, but for the $400 you will spend for it, you can get a comp for $100 more and you get more adjustability, the tuner does a great job on the bottom end but is not so neat above 2200 rpm. if you are getting a deal on a superchips go with it, heck I run one with my drag comp and it gets the old girl out of the hole nicely. I personaly feel the VA was the best of all as my mileage went up to 22 (verified) from 16-18 and it was an animal off the bottom, you can buy them all day long for 250-300 bucks and they are installed in 10 minutes, this was the best bang for my buck. the comp and va have boost foolers, the superchips does not, the superchips can alter your tire size/speedo and read codes, although your 2001 can read most of its own codes, the tuner will read more, so if it were me I would just hunt for a deal, I paid $350 for my tuner and was happy.....then I paid $500 for my drag comp and was amazed! the VA was $250ish and was a great bargain....keep lookin' you will find a good deal

Cujo,I think the H.O.'s like you and me have do not respond as well to boxes as the standard output trucks. But im sure you would still see a increase.I think edge says 90hp increase on a H.O. as compared to 120hp on a S.O. with a comp. But hey,its still a solid 90 ponies.

for the money I say skip the 'tuner' and just get a box. If you're only looking for a mild increase plenty of options are available and they'll cost marginally more than a tuner. If you want to go extreme measures just go with injectors, a drag comp and twins...

btw... my H.O. dynoed 260 rwhp with just an EZ but the injectors really woke it up.
