Superchips and high idle
I just got my superchips programmer yesterday and was setting it up and it asked if I was going to run in a sub zero climate. I called superchips today to ask them what that would do and they said that it would ramp up the rpms during cold weather. He could not tell me the parameters that would make it idle up so I'm a little leary. Is this true? I checked yes but it was not cold enough this morning (40) to make it do anything.

Oh trust me, when it's cold you're gonna want the high idle. It makes your truck warm up so much faster. I'd definetely recommend it!!!! And don't worry, it's not going to harm anything on your truck!

Oh yeah I know that I want it, right now I'm using a cut off piece of pvc but what I was wondering is does the programmer install the high idle function or did this guy not know what he was talking about?

Nope, it doesn't. I wish it did though. The "Truck driven in subzero temps Y/N?" does not activate the high idle. It has been plenty cold here to make it work (-40) if it did.

Well that just sucks. I called Superchips back to try and get a more definative answer but they could not come up with one. He told me to uncheck it if I am not using winterblend fuel. Do you have any idea what the purpose of that function is?
