SuperChips Dyno Results

SuperChips Dyno Results
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone had any dyno results running Superchips on a H.O.? if so please post. I have mine set on the highest, and it sure doesn't feel like the "supposed" 80 hp and 181 lb/ft of torque that is claimed on the packaging. I also have not noticed any increase in my mileage although right now it is winter fuel.
Thanks

The dyno test is from a manual trans truck which will be more than the auto trans but not that much more or so I was told.
The performance tune (not for towing) made an increase of 137.9 hp @ 2600 rpm's and 282.8 ft lbs of torque @ 1900 rpm's at the rear wheels! the auto trans vehicles are getting tuning the trans also. I have not been told there are any tell tale codes on the Dodges being thrown from it from talkign to them. Just talked to customer service and they have not had any calls where a customer called and said he had an issue with warranty. As long as you take it out before you go there, you are fine. It is the poor guys that open their mouth and say I had a programmer is the guy that has an issue! Until someone calls with something that Dodge came up with (which may be a lie to get a customer to get himself in trouble) there are no issues so far. They put the computer back to stock with the same program the truck had before they program, so there really can't be something in the computer. They say they have tested the EGT's and found that it lowered the temp's over stock when towing with the towing program (not performance program).
Will let you know more as I pick their brains....I also asked that after it is loaded if you can still use the TOW/HAUL and OD OFF selector on gear selector....or if you had to do it ONLY with the programmer. They are getting back to me on that as he was not sure of answer and going to programmers for answer.

I run the programmer and a drag comp and all I can say is if the programmer gives 138 HP then my drag comp is good for 700HP minimum...I would say you should expect 40-50 hp but the perf tow gives a WAY better bottom/mid pull then stock or the comp, it just boosts sooner, egt was never a concern in my truck even towing 12k with 3" straight, if you are thinking it is a miracle hp device...it is not. I like it because I can tune for tire height, diagnose other vehicles, it cleans up the nonexistant hp off idle, and no one knows you have it so it can't be stolen. they sell a zillion of em' so they must work well enough but hp junkies will need tapped wires and/or start swapping hard parts.

it may all be customer service and tech b.s.....but told me they are adjusting and tuning so much that it makes overall driveability better and is for the avg guy that wants more performance and towing out of vehicle without worrying about blowing it up or melting it down.... true performance bombers will want to go with more radical setups....

I figured it was... which will clear up the comments... I think he is running the SC on 02 VP44 truck... There's a lot more tuning that can be done on the HPCR engines compared to the VP'ed engines...

i agree....there is another post here that is specific for 2006 CTD engines...so I saw this one and posted same information without thinking that they might be looking at different year...and without any info in his signature I could not tell.
Sorry for any confusion this caused...but it is for 05-06 CTD with the 325/610 performance numbers stock. Dyno results are for manual tranny but he did mention auto is more tuneable so there are other tradeoffs to help so the result is not too far off where rubber meets road.
When I get the answer to the TOW/HAUL and OD OFF selector and how it is affected or affects the upload I will post that as well.

Just heard back from superchip....the programmer that worked on the Cummins loader that was just released for 05-06 CTD trucks says that their load does not affect the stock TOW/HAUL settings. So you could run performance most of the time and still use factory tow and haul settings if light towing. If heavy towing recommend using their TOW HAUL if going on long trip with big load where it will be needed more than just a couple hours....like a big hunting trip to Colorado next Fall for elk...LMAO

I was just looking for the H.O. VP numbers, as I don't feel that I'm getting the advertised power numbers, but I don't know for sure since I haven't dynoed my truck. Thanks anyway,
