super phat shaft 62... for 12v?
I was looking over the specs on the super phat shaft 62 turbo this afternoon and noticed they dont offer one for the 12v.They do offer the phat shaft 62 but Im looking to hit 500-600hp with whatever setup I finally go with. I could go larger but Im concerned a bit about lag and spool times since this is going to be a toy-haulin' DD and rice cooker.
Any recommendations? Are there SPS62's made for 12v's and Im just not looking in the right place?
It would be nice to use this in a twin setup too eventually so Id like to err on the smaller side.

I've got an sps62 on my 12 and I love it.
if you're at low altitude and don't tow anything, go w/ the 66... if you tow at all, get the 62. it'll support 550 without much trouble. stack some water/alky w/ it, and it'll support great power w/ low drive pressure and good EGT's.
my truck has 3.54's and 35" tires and we have a cabin at 9000ft, so I'm not even going to consider a 66...

i know i have a 24 valve, but horse power is horse power. I have the 62 right now and approx 500-525 hp and it will not support it. i have to run with the tst off 99% of the time. And forget about towing anything that is very heavy with just 425 (approx) hp with the 62. It isnt going to be pretty. If you want to run 600 hp, you need AT LEAST the sps 64, but perferably the 66.
Now you can run the sps 62 and throw a b2 under it. Thats what im going to do

The 66 sounds like its pretty laggy.. I get the impression all the power is up top with something that big.
Im not sure the 64 would be nuch better for me in that department. How would you guys compare a SPS64 with the stock HX for lag?

I've got a maxed out 215 combo... only thing limiting rack travel is the front plug... not saying I'm a tuning pimp, but I should be making 400rwhp or so... maybe a little more? EGT's won't go over 1200* at 45psi

I was looking at II's page and they're listing the 1994-2002 sps62 at 400-700 hp??!? They still list my lowly ps64 at 350-575
PDW has the phatshafts on sale- best prices I've seen on them in the last year. Fwiw, Doug's numbers of 300-550 seems more reasonable.

I don't have the super version, but I think my ps64 is a good compromise. I put down 492 and have no egt problems empty. Mines a 24v and I don't tow but compared the the amount of boost I'd see daily driving with the truck stock to what I see now, and there's not much of a difference. Spool is definately slower than a hx, but it really takes off after 10 lbs, and 10 lbs can be seen by 1700 rpms on my truck =P People do call the 64 laggy though.

My local diesel tuner was originally suggesting a SPS66, but Im worried the lag wouldnt make it as snappy as Id like. Unfortunately I have to do a lot of city driving to get -away- from the city and all the loonies on the roads.
No doubt the 66 would support a lot more ponies.
