You play, you pay.

Question, does the Superchips incorporate a boost fooler, as the Edge products do?

Re:super chips programmer?

As far as the check engine light, you can see what code is causing it, and there's a manual telling you what all the codes are. You can also turn it off with the programmer.
I really don't know about whether this is better than the Edge, since I have a 12V and I only used the programmer on a Powerstroke. From my understanding, you could get the programmer and then stack that on an EZ if you have a fat enough wallet.

Not only does it throw a code (check engine light) but the truck defuels to stop the overboost problem (I think).

Re:super chips programmer?

So wait, I asked a friend today about it and he told me that you should be able to take it out and program other people's trucks too. Is this true? Then I could kinda make my money back on the cost of it. What are the different levels I can program it to hp and torque wise? This sounds like an awesome idea, what do you guys think?

Re:super chips programmer?

Once you use it on your truck it stores your stock program in the Programer there for you can not use it on other trucks.

I've never seen one on a CTD but alot of the Power Stroke guys run them around here.

IMO an Edge EZ or a Power Puck would be a better investment for you CTD but that's just my opinion. : You can find used EZ's on the TDR classifieds all the time for cheap. That's where I got the one I run on my 99, it doesn't have any stickers on it but works great with the TST box. 8)

Re:super chips programmer?

The SC programmer does not have the punch of my Comp box on the EZ settings. It does fuel more, and adjust the timing for performance. I would suggest trying one before you buy it. Most shops will allow you to load it up and try it for a day or two before you buy it. It does have it's high points, but I would never give up my Comp for one. I run them stacked together and seems to work ok. It will also adjust for tire size and towing medium / heavy loads. I paid $275.00 for mine and it was worth every penny. Now all I need is a turbo. Re:super chips programmer?

What kind of power gains are you getting with the programmer stacked with the comp as opposed to just the comp?

Re:super chips programmer?

I will not be on the dyno until next month so I cannot say for sure, BUT, the Superchips programmer is set @ the highest "performance" setting and if I had to guess I would say maybe a 30-40 HP difference. I think the programmer is a great unit because of what it can do from a diagnostic standpoint. I would suggest getting an EZ box and using the SC programmer with it. Good luck. LE

Re:super chips programmer?

I've got an EZ, and I'm looking at 275's or the programmer for my next mod. The programmer looks good because I'm running 33x12.5's and it will adjust for tire size. How much more smoke does the programmer put out when stacked with your Comp?
