Sub box

I want to make a 10" sub box for under my back seat. I would like to know who has done it and see some specs and pics. Thanx,

Paul

My truck had a sub box when I bought it. It holds 2 10 inchers. It doesnt have a bottom in it and is molded so that it fits the countor of the floor. I will try to get some pics of it tomorrow if you want

I have two 12in pioneer subs that fit under my rear seat power by a 1200w amp. Its a custom made box and I didn't have to move the rear seat to put them but I did lose my storage space under the seat. Its one sweet sound system and it really made the truck a nice driver.

CTD01 I have had a single 10" sub behind my seat in my single cab since I have had it. I was wanting to upgrade to a dual 10" box and my friend told me to look on eBay. I found an eBay store that sells boxes and accessories, and they had the twin 10" box I wanted for really really cheap.

Onto your case. I would either search eBay for one, or look on crutchfield, or most audio places. More than likely (am am darned sure for second gens) that there are moulded under-rear seat boxes to find. I am actually pretty sure my buddy with an '01 has a 2x10" sub box under his rear seat.

I have a MTX thunderform box under my back seat with 2 10s in it. Its a pretty decent set up. I picked it up used for a good price.

I think these are the boxes I am thinking of. As far as I am concerned though, I will have to pick up a custom behind seat 2x10" box for my truck, as it is a first gen (which no one anywhere seems to have love for in the aftermarket ), and I cannot find things like this for it.

I have some pics in my gallery of my 8" sub boxes that I made, in the pictures they're not finished but they might give you some ideas for your own...

crazylunker,
I may be interested in that used box if CTD01 isn't,if,the price is right.I'd also need to know size and weight so I can check shipping to Canada.
Lemme know what goes on.

Thanks,Ragg

raggmann, the shop that installed mine did a pretty nice job on the install. They are located in Calgary. If you send me your email address I
ll send you some pics. Mine system you can't even see any wires and there a cover over the amps. I think that I paid $200 bucks for them to be built.

look around. jl audio makes a box they call the stealth. and it replaces the middle cushion of the front seat. you can't and won't even know it's there.

I have built 4 now (2 from MDF and 2 from fiberglass) I think I have a pic or 2 in my gallery. What specifically would you like to know? Unless you want to raise the seat you are limited in woofers. You can fit any 8", a few good 10" and all the entry level 12" subs I know of. A glass enclosure will allow a little more breathing room but you still must pick your driver carefully. The largest enclosure I have been able to make with out lifting the seat is .875cft so that really rules out many of the good ported subs in the 10s and 12s. Right now I have 2 sets I switch back and forth from, One set of CDT 8" that are in a .6cft per enclosure tuned (ported) to 38hz and one set of AVI 10' sealed in a .4cft per enclosure and with a overabundance of power both sets kick like mules. Remember the enclosure must be built for the driver of choice and you don't have a trunk to play with that you can stuff a 3-4cft box in to make the sub work as its designed, so pick your sub after you build the box. Also I am a firm believer in having 2-3X the recommended power for subs but hey that why my truck has 2 turbos as well
PM me if you want any more info are a pic of the new under construction box.

I have been looking for a source for the stealth box for my RC, just wondering how much they are?
