Stupid question about programmers
Seen a lot of programmers lately that plug into the OBDII port for improving performance/towing/mpg etc. Will they only work on 1 vehicle? What I mean is, what if a group of folks (say 4) with the same vehicles buys 1 programmer, can they all program their vehicle with the thing, or is there some sort of "license" that only legally lets the purchaser program his/her vehicle with it?

1 vehicle per programmer.
It takes the stock program and stores it in the programmer then puts the new program into the truck.
It can't do anything till the stock program is put back into the original truck.

Do they actually work well? Only folks I personally know who use them own Chevy gassers, and I wouldn't take their word on what color the sky is. That isn't a slam at Chevy, just these guys that I personally know!!
