I just used a small pin punch and hit the top of the screw at 90° so I was putting full force into turning it instead of pounding it into the AFC housing. The bolt is soft and can bend easily, so too much force you will get it lodged into the AFC housing.

After I got it out I cut a slot in it with a hacksaw and used that until I upgraded to a hex head capscrew.

just hammer a torx bit in there and then throw it in the trash as soon as you get it out! why would you want to re-use that thing?
