stuck between turbos...which one
well my fueling is pretty much a edge comp and dd3's
i want a turbo that will give me streetability, but also make near 500 hp. i figure with the DD3s i will be able to get over the 400hp mark then with some mach 4's ill be able to bring my power up to the 500hp mark.
i am hearing good things about the htb2 64/14 or 62/12 and also the full-on B-1...but would something like an hx-50 or 55 work for street driving and drag racing a couple times a year. I only tow 3-4K pounds a few times a year as well so towing spool-up is not a big deal...mostly empty driving around town and some drag racing.

With your 6 sp you have more choices than did I....but IMO, the full B-1 gives poor street manors, but great top end.
I believe the larger HTB2's from HTT spool better but are not quit as strong on the high end.
For 500 hp, a B-1-2 will get there with excellent streetability. I recently switched from a KSB-1 (dynoed at 520 hp...with an external wastegate) to one of JR Adkins HX-55's with a 14cm2 housing. It's the closest I found, so far to the best of both worlds but requires a lot of fuel to spoolup. I loved my B-1...and so far (2 weeks) am very happy with the step up to the HX-55.
As you point out, larger singles are a compromise. Several have gone too big and regretted losing street drivability. For me it's realizing that 99% of my driving time is at less than full throttle.
