If you have a manual it is awesome. With an auto it doesn't do much.

Go to the User CP and fill out your signature so everyone knows what you are working with!

Welcome aboard!

I have it and love it. I really don't think you'll notice any performance increase with it, though. JMO

I have an 02 with a 4 inch straight pipe, I love the sound of it! I like the sound of a cummins with a straight pipe, they sound very mean.

I have a 02 with the factory exhaust straight piped and love it! Its music to my ears And with the windows up, its really not that loud. I get a slight drone at 60-65mph, but its nothing untolerable.

straight pipe sounds awesome, but i think i might quiet things down just a tad with an aftermarket muffler. sometimes its just plain TOO loud. to get moving at a decent speed i wake up half the neighborhood. its not loud in the cab at all, and i dont get much drone at highway speeds.

right now im running a peice of 3" straight. ill probably end up going to a 4" with muffler. i might put a dump right before the muffler so i can uncork it on occasion

I have a straight pipe, not a 02', but i'm sure it sounds similar. Like was said above, with a manual tranny each time u shift it sounds so cool. And slowing down and letting the turbo spool down sounds great. Towing amplifies the exhaust, but I don't mind. I noticed a drop in EGT's (towing 9k today EGT's never got above 900), but it's more for sound i think. The only time it's really loud, is with the passenger window down getting on the throttle. Windows up I hear alittle hum, but barely anything other than the engine. I say go for it, and if u don't end up liking it, u can always cut a section of the straight pipe and put a aftermarket muffler in.

I have a 4" downpipe into 5" pipe that ends right before the back of my cab. Needless to say it is extremely loud. With the little slider window open in the rear of the truck it is probably close to one of the loudest things I've ever heard, but if you keep the drivers side slider closed that blocks out most of the sound. I think its mainly because my pipe dumps quite a bit shorter than a complete exhaust system would.

But it sounds awesome. All windows up it cruises just fine and I barely notice it. But others notice me lol... I get a little uptight accelerating from stoplights that have an uphill right after them when there is a cop at the light, because once you get it moving its not bad, its getting up to speed that its loud.

Turbo sounds really cool, especially when you let off hard at a high RPM. Very cool "whoosing" sound, not chopping though which is good.

It drowns out ricers, rattles my toolbox and slider window a bit sometimes, makes me uncomfortable around cops, but I love everything about it .

Driving the 2500 today I swear with the windows up and coasting at 45 I could not tell if the truck was on or not... lol.

Straight pipe sounds ok to me. It's a little loud when starting out inthe morning. But it's a 2nd gen 24 valve..they make noise live with it. It's what they do.

Power and performance no change at all. Mpg no change either. Mpg maybe a little less because you gotta step on it more often. haha

Like mentioned. No real performance gain. Lower EGTs though. Sounds really nice! But a straight pipe is VERY loud. I didn't know what I was getting myself into until I finally did it. I still haven't heard a truck that loud in my area. It's music to my ears during the day. I literally roll down the windows and listen to my exhaust tone instead of the radio. At night it's a little too loud and I feel like I'm disturbing the neighbors. Just imagine the garbage truck rolling through your area at midnight. I get drone at about 2000 rpms. BAD DRONE. I have to avoid cruising at speeds that keep my rpms at ~2000. If you tow regularly, I bet the drone is even worse. Overall I'm happy with it. There are times I wish it wasn't so loud, like when I go camping. So think about what you do with the truck before you straight pipe.
