straight meth
well i installed a snow stage two water meth kit on my truck lastnight and wehn i got it done i put straight methanol that is run through sprint cars in the tank. and i had the two i think it is 675ml/min injectors in the intake manifold and went for a test drive. well the first time it kick on the motor started making a loud ticking noise and i pulled over poped the hood. OIL EVERYWHERE!!!! blown head gasket. number one cylinder. was it the pure meth or just time for the headgasket to go?

It was my understanding that adding methanol increased the cylinder pressures and that straight meth even more so. High timing or more air will also do it.
If youre going to run more power mods in the future its probably worthwhile to get it all done right since the HG popped. Have the block and head checked for flatness and/or decked and then run headstuds and o-rings. You might even look into 14mm studs for more clamping force if you really intend to go high or want a MLS gasket.
That really bites but at least it didnt pop in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah...probably the meth. Recomended max is a 50/50 mix with water for the most benefit without the painful side effects on diesel engines. Using the pure Methanol will actually detonate at our compression ratio which causes simulated advanced timing and thus popping head gaskets - especially stockers - ouch

14mm stud require the block to be drilled and tapped. & i bieleve that fire rings require the block to be machined also. you probally want 12mm studs and an o-ringed head with a marine gasket. and it would be my opinion never to run straight methanol. 50/50 at the most. and that might be too much if your timing is advanced a bunch. Im not sure how the timing is advanced with your computers.

Oring is groove cut in head to allow the addition of a steel oring to put more pinch on the headgasket around each cylinder. 12mm studs is stock size, just get 12mm aftermarket ones and you'll be just fine.
Firerings are cut into the block, steel ring, same principle.

ok so a o ringed head 12mm studs and a marine head gasket is what i should do correct?
would that hold about 60 psi with the ii towing twins?

yeah o-rings should work fine. fire-ringing is the fire rings are cut out of the gasket the ring clamps down on the block and o-ringing is the rings clamp down on the fire ring in the gasket. you could have either one done o-rings work better with daily drivers because of the heat cycles.
