Stock exhaust

At what hp does the stock exhaust minus the muffler be come too restrictive. I want to do a stage 3 htturbo kit with a 14cm exhaust housing. Then installing some 80 hp injectors. Just want more power now that the ofe is in and dont have the money for all of it at the same time.

When does exhaust help?

OldSmokey,

The stock exhaust will support up to an average of 300 HP, but a performance system will lower your EGT's helping your MPG as well as let the turbo spool up lts sooner as well. Plus it sets the truck up safely for the mods you mentioned that you will be doing at a later time. Call us if you have any questions we will be glad to help you.

O.S.

With the mods you list, a straight 3" pipe should give you no EGT problems at all. Have seen many such systems with happy owners!

I'm running a comp and rv275's (about 350hp) and I have the stock exhaust with the res & muff replaced by a dynomax ultraflow muff ..........cruise egt's are about 650 degrees ................. I can just touch on 1300 for about 5 seconds before it defuels and drops back to 900 degrees and by then you're going way too fast
