stock clutch

will a stock six speed clutch handle DD2's and an EZ? Also, if you dont hook up the pump wire on a comp, is it an EZ? Stupid question, but I have heard two different answers.

Re:stock clutch

I thought maybe for a while, then I read your sig. Nope.

No wire makes it a mildly adjustable EZ.

Re:stock clutch

Is that a "nope" for this is a stupid question, or was it for the "will the stock clutch handle the dd2's and ez"?

Re:stock clutch

Maybe. Some clutches are better than others, but if I were a betting man I'd say no. Not hooking up the wire on a comp makes it an EZ.

Re:stock clutch

The ETH factory clutch has proven to be weaker with power mods then the ETC 5 spd factory clutch.

You will be pushing its limits and once you hook up a trailer and have just one hard acceleration...it will more then likely start to slip.

Re:stock clutch

Nope is for the clutch not holding. No question is stupid.

Dodgeboy, 140 hp??? You must have gotten one of the really superduper ones. Advertised gain is 120, rearwheel is more like 80.

Re:stock clutch

Now you know what the EZ can do. The COMP wouldn't get you around me either, while your shifting you'll be watching my tail lights fade in front of you. Watch your warranty!!
Re:stock clutch

So, you guys with Comps have pierced the dreaded fuel pump wire? I'm still riding the fence a bit as to whether I buy the EZ or the Comp. If I never pierce the wire, I think it'd be a waste of money over the EZ.

Help make this decision easier!!!!

Re:stock clutch

Brownpike let me put on his EZ and I noticed a little more power, but not as much as I thought I would be gaining. The clutch did not slip. I think I will opt for the comp and in 4 years maybe hook up the wire. Now while pulling, I might slip the clutch. You never know until you try. As for you brownpike, Bring it on. I am not to worried

Re:stock clutch

how much power are you supposed to gain with the ez and the tst pm3? What is the combo? Do you have to ***** the pump wire?
