3 pickup trucks, 1 car, 2 four wheelers, 1 fifth wheel camper, 27ft triple axle trailer, 40 ft gooseneck, 1 wood hauling trailer. Live in alaska and have an extra set of tires for the 2 pickups, fifth wheel, and one car for the winter studs. That adds up to 56 tires. Every six months I would have to take in the two trucks and car to switch the tires over. Now they charge 70 dollars to do the trucks and 40 for the car and camper. It seems I always have a flat on something. You do the math and tell me how long it will take to pay for the 2000 dollar tire machine and balancer. Plus having the convenience of doing it in my own shop. Plus alot of friends come over and use it along with the keg of guinness I have in the shop.

I got my tires at Discount in Yuma, Az and they wouldnt put 285's on my truck said they were too wide so I had to buy the 265's. Well didnt HAVE to but I got a good price with a rebate so who can complain too much.

I ran Goodyear A/T 305-70's on my stock aluminum rims for about 50k...let them get a little too slick and dry rotted and then...

Later!!

Seems to be some confusion...the Aluminum wheels are 8", at least they are on the 02's.

I would not run 285's on anything smaller than 8"...especially since all 285's (I think all) are only D rated.
