Stereo questions.

What aftermarket stereos are you all running in your trucks??

I had been running a Kenwood system. Will change new stereo with the "new" truck.

I'm especially interested if anyone has come up with a location to stash a sub or subs in their quad cab??

im running a alpine 9815 deck, diamond audio door speakers,jl audio tweeters, jl stealth box with 2 10 inch jls powerd by a 500 watt fosgate amp with in dash bass control ****. into the whole system 1700.00 but well worth it. the stealth box under the rear seat matches interior perfect, hides subs and sounds awesom. i tryed custom boxes and cheaper boxes wasnt happy with any of them till i got the stealth box. jl also makes a box with a single 12 to fit between front seats. thats my next sound investment. i can take some pics of mine if youd like to see.

Right now I have an Alpine CDA-9815, Audiobahn AW1500HCT amp, and 2 12" Audiobahn AW1206T's. Hopefully soon Ill be adding JL components up front and Alpine coax's in the rear, not to sure bout the amp yet.

Mounting in a quad cab can get tricky if you want to run 12's as there arent alot of options. Right now mine rear seat is flipped up and the subs are mounted inverted in hatchback style boxes. It looks alright but really isnt practical.

This is what Im going to build as a more permanent set up:

My advice would be to go with 10's so you can use a JL stealthbox and keep your rear seat.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Stealth box eh??? Sounds like a thought. Not familiar with that product. I'll look for it at some stereo shops.

10" would be fine, not looking for heart stopping thump. More of a prescence of sound with a little thump when you want it would be fine.

I'm running two 10" JL W-3's in a downfire box that fits "snug" under your rear seat. RF 800wt amp pushing. Only thing is that the box slides forward after a while and also gives NO foot room for rear-seat passengers (I just make em ride in the bed!!!!)

I'm running an Alpine 9807 head unit with Polk Components up front powered by an alpine amp with Pioneer 2 ways in the rear. I've also got 2 Audiobahn 12" 450w RMS subs under the back seat powered by an Audiobahn 1500w mono ch amp. I'm getting ready to upgrade the subs to 700w RMS.

hmmmm, I guess I'm just not being creative enough with my box location and size

Do you guys get decent soud out of boxes that are small enough to actually fit in that tiny space under the seat?

Eclipse head unit, 4 way 6x9s, components up front, 2-12in. JL Audios under the rear seat (no lift) powered by an American Pro 1600 watt amp. The funny thing is I listen to mostly country . Its nice to be able to crank it up when I want to though .

That sure is a paltry excuse for a stereo. Skrawny lil 12" subs.
