Does the tapping screw crack into the plastic circuit on the vp. i am not so sure how this is better than tapping the wires directly. what if you completely crack the board?

 

Are you talking about the Blue Chip pump cover or similar? If so yes it taps into the wire where it goes into the pump through the plastic. The point of the pump cover really is to hide the fact the you tapped the wire. it makes a small teeny tiny peircing that is covered up by the stock cover you put back on when you bring the truck to the shop for warrenty work etc... It is easy to see and harder to hide the fact that you have tapped the wire directly using a posi - tap or other method.
