Starwheel all the way FWD, No Smoke, Should I gut it?
Adjusted the wheel, got no smoke whatsoever. Was hoping to fog the neighborhood now trying to figure out what the problem is. Actually I had initially moved it 20 clicks fwd then all the way until I couldnt turn it anymore, no smoke, turned it all the way to the back because I wasnt sure which way to go, really seemd to run about the same anywhere I dialed the wheel. Have it all the way fwd at present. Did I already screw something up... The Dodge is new to me so I really dont know how much power I should expect from the free stocker mods. Moved the stock plate and afc fwd before I messed with the wheel and it was a big change in power. Should I grind the stock plate to a 0 or 100 profile for good all around road performance. What is the difference with a gutted AFC or wheel all the way fwd. Will pinching/plugging the wastegate hose help with free mods? I read the TST install instructions for their plate, does their elbow just lose the connection to the WG and leave the connection from the IP to the AFC or could all the ports be plugged?

i have seen some trucks the didnt get anymore smoke by adjusting the starwheel full forwards so no you didnt screw anything up. just leave it all the way forwards and if you have gauges the grind yourself a 0 plate, that should give you plenty of fuel for now but you will have to keep an eye on egt's and when you put your afc housing back on slide it forwards too. i would also recommend getting a boost elbow if it is a manual or a j-hook/turn buckle if it is an auto

Sorry I guess I need a sig but theres not much to put in it yet..
94 4WD auto(unrebuilt)with 354 gears and 280K mi. I think all thats been done to it is a new lift and IP. 315s at present, working on some H2 wheels but undecided on tire size with the 17s. Where is the best place to get some reasonable guages?
Could you explain the J hook so I can rig one up?
Thanks

a j-hook hooks on the wastegate of your turbo and keeps it shut which allows you to build more boost, to be simple and save money you can just go to your local hardware store and buy a turnbuckle to use. just do a search on here for installation pics if u need. As for gauges, just shop around, as far as i know there is not a place that sells them a lot cheaper than others so just look for some sales. P.S. make sure you get a pyro, boost, and trans temp when you get your gauges

You don't need a J hook on a 94....only the HY35 with the hard line to the wastegate needs that. Removing the boost elbow and installing a 1/8" pipe plug will accomplish the same thing.

I'm having the same issue. I completely loosened the star wheel (until there is a small noticible gap between the spring and the wheel) and still no smoke. ****, guess I can't blow smoke until I get my plate.
