Star Wheel Maxed - No Smoke

Turned the star wheel all the way and didn't get the smoke I expected...actually almost none. Any suggestions? My buddy who helped said he's gotten big smoke from turnin' a '97 and '99 recently.

Make sure you have a good fuel filter, and everything else is working properly. Bulid for power and the smoke will come. Which way did you turn it? Looser is the way you want to go.

And you might want to tell your buddy there is no starwheel on a 99

Nick is right

99 was already 24V computer controlled, Big smoke comes easily from a 215 or 180 pump truck, was the 97 a manual? If so then that explains it, YOu need to loosen teh starwheel completely Turn it upwards so taht it loosens, If that has not gotten you any smoke, you might want to take into consideration your AFC positioning, if its centered or all the way back, thats a huge factor for reduced smoke...

I would suggest a plate change, if you are stock as well, or just bump up your stock plate forward a little bit... 160 pumps are not all that smokey.. but with some mods as so they can be smokier...
