Stacks...would they look good?
#16
I built my stacks using 4" square inside the bed one 3" coming up through the bed over the exhaust then 4" round strait cut black stacks at each end. The square is welded to 2 peices of 2x2x6" angle that are bolted to the bed. I placed a divider over the inlet to split exhaust flow, also 1/4" drains in each end so water does not collect inside when it rains and blow out over a white truck

I have been doing some looking around and thinking. For now I think i might buy, or make my own headache rack that will bolt to the frame, but be right up against the front of the flat bed(until i can afford a new bed) Then I would have the stacks at each corner, or close to it of the headache rack and bed. Not sure if I will get turn outs or miter cuts. And not too sure on how I should run the exhaust piping to the stacks. Should I come up say like what I have done in this picture? And then build a long "box" that will just bolt over the piping that runs along the bed so that it is hidden more and the metal box will match the headache rack?
What do you think guys?

i think you are headed in the right direction. i put stacks on my friends flatbed and we ran the pipe underneath and it was a pain in the a** but it can be done you just have to watch for the big tank of diesel.

Thanks Mattie,
I think i'm going to start writing down measurements, planning it out, drawing it out, whatever needs to be done. I'll see how I make out with all of that and then possibly start to built it. The headache rack and the stacks. It will probably be a workin progress but that is ok,lol Im still young

So will I,lol
It will probably take a bit of time being as I just started work and need to make sure I have the money. I think I'm going to look at some headache racks and build one myself. Probably get 1 inch square tubing, or a bit bigger and make the outline. Then draw out/design how I would like the smaller inner tubing to run along it. Probably have some sort of bracket in each corner for back up/loading lights. Have a space so that you can still see the 3rd brake light. I'm not to sure if I am going to somehow get it to bolt to the frame, so that it is close to the cab, leaving more room in the corners for stacks....bolt it up to the flatbed(so the headache rack would be in between the bed and the cab, but attached to the bed) and have the stacks come through the flatbed....or bolt it to the top of the flat bed(but up front) using some sort of L bracket. This way would be easier to bolt up and design. Then i could notch some wood out of the corner of the flat bed for the stacks and attach to the headache rack for support. Or have the headache rack bolt up one of those ways, but plumb the stacks like i did in the picture above. Then maybe built a box to cover y pipe and a bit of the plumbing. Decisions, decisions
